Display and Design
The Galaxy A27 5G carries a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Samsung's Infinity-O punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. It is available in three colors: Black, Blue, and Light Pink. The body measures a slim 7.8mm and weighs 200g.
Chipset: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, Adreno GPU
The phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 — a 4nm octa-core chipset that steps up from the Snapdragon 4-series chips typically seen in this price bracket. The Adreno GPU handles graphics, and storage is user-expandable via microSD up to 2TB, which is rare at this price. For an alternative at a similar tier, the realme P4R 5G launched in India with a Dimensity 6300 and a massive 8,000mAh battery as a benchmark for comparison.
Camera System
The rear camera array includes:
- 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS)
- 5MP ultra-wide camera
- 2MP macro lens
The 12MP front camera is housed in the Infinity-O display cutout. Samsung has loaded the Galaxy A27 5G with several AI-powered camera tools: Circle to Search, Object Eraser, virtual clothing try-ons, and multilingual voice transcription. Both Gemini and Perplexity are supported as AI assistants.
Battery, Charging, and Durability
A 5,000mAh battery with 25W USB-C fast charging handles the power side. The phone also carries an IP64 rating — protection against dust ingress and splashing water from all directions — which adds peace of mind for everyday use. Both a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock are available.
Six Years of Software Support
One of the Galaxy A27 5G's strongest long-term arguments is its update commitment: Samsung guarantees six major Android OS upgrades and six years of security patches. That takes the device well into the early 2030s — an unusually long runway for a sub-₱20,000 smartphone. The phone ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5.
