Pokemon 30th Anniversary Brings PokéXciting! Events to Seven Asian Cities, Manila in January 2027

The Pokemon Company is marking its 30th anniversary — 30 years since Pokémon Red and Green launched in Japan in February 1996 — with what it calls the largest regional celebration in Asia to date. Seven cities across the continent are included, and the main event series, called PokéXciting!, will hold large-scale fan festivals at five of them.

Jakarta and Hong Kong are part of the seven-city roster and will see anniversary activities, though they are not listed among the five PokéXciting! host cities. Each PokéXciting! event is designed with its own city-specific Pokémon experience, though specific venue details and individual activity breakdowns per location have not yet been announced.

The Pokemon Company launched a dedicated Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary website on June 3, 2026, available in English, Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian. It will serve as the central hub for event details, additional announcements, and country-specific information as more dates and venues are confirmed.

For Filipino Fans

Manila's placement near the end of the tour — January 2027 — means Filipino fans have the longest wait of the five PokéXciting! markets, but it also means The Pokemon Company will have had several events' worth of experience to refine the format by the time it arrives. Registration and ticketing details for all cities are expected to be announced through the official anniversary website in the coming months.
