Two-Lens Imaging System
The Luna Ultra uses a dual-lens design rather than a single interchangeable lens. The primary camera is built around a Type 1 (1-inch) 8K sensor paired with a Leica Summicron lens at f/1.8 (20mm equivalent). A secondary telephoto lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor at f/2.0 (60mm equivalent) handles close-in shots. Together they support up to 6x lossless zoom and 12x total digital zoom.
Video captures at 8K/30fps with Dolby Vision and 10-bit I-Log encoding, with up to 14 stops of dynamic range and 4K at 120fps for slow motion. Still photography options include 37MP UltraPhoto mode and a 200MP Scenic Panorama mode. Leica's branded color profiles — Leica Natural, Leica Vivid, and Leica Chrome — carry over to the Luna Ultra, along with full ACES color workflow compatibility.
