vivo has revealed the design of the standard vivo X500 ahead of the series' launch in China on September 21. The phone gets a new rear layout with a large circular camera module set toward the left side of the back, a departure from the centered ring on last year's X300, GSMArena reports. vivo also confirmed four colors and one important camera detail: the X500 will use the same main and telephoto sensors as the X300 Pro.
What the vivo X500 looks like
The circular camera unit sits on the left. The LED flash is outside the circle, and the whole assembly is housed within a raised rectangular plateau that runs across the width of the phone. The result is a visibly different look from the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, which keep a large centered camera ring closer to the previous generation, according to Nokiamob's summary of the official images.
Confirmed colors:
- X500: black, light gray, light pink, and a fourth gradient finish
- X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max: gray, white, orange and black
Nokiamob also notes an extra button on the left edge of the Pro Max, which it suggests may be a dedicated camera control, and that the Pro Max is the larger of the two Pro models.
Camera hardware vivo has confirmed so far
vivo has been releasing camera details in stages since it set the date. Gizmochina's report on the launch-date confirmation collects what the company has said officially:

Across the series, vivo has confirmed 10-bit 4:2:2 video encoding, support for the ACES color system used in film post-production, and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording on the Pro models. New AI photography tools include a shooting assistant and album-based editing with custom color adjustments.
CIPA is the Japanese camera industry body whose stabilization ratings are usually quoted for mirrorless cameras; a 7.0 rating means roughly seven stops of shake correction. EV, or exposure value, measures dynamic range: 17EV is a claim about how much detail the sensor keeps in both bright and dark parts of one frame.
Everything else, including the chipset, display size, battery capacity and charging speed, remains unconfirmed by vivo. Reports have pointed to a 2nm MediaTek chip and a battery above 7,000mAh, but those are leaks, not announcements, and this article does not treat them as fact.
What the X300 Pro sensors mean for the base model
vivo's decision to put the X300 Pro's main and telephoto sensors into the standard X500 is the most consumer-relevant confirmation so far. The X300 Pro was the camera flagship of its generation, and its imaging hardware moving down to the base model means the cheapest X500 should inherit most of that camera's still-photo capability, even if video features and the 200MP telephoto stay on the Pro models.
Philippine availability and what the X300 cost here
vivo has not announced the X500 series for the Philippines. The September 21 event is a China launch, and Nokiamob reports that global availability is expected around November, though vivo has not confirmed any international date.
The X series does reach the Philippines. The X300 and X300 Pro launched locally on November 26, 2025 at ₱67,999 and ₱77,999 respectively, both in 16GB/512GB, sold through vivo concept stores, the official e-store, Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, with zero-interest installments of up to 24 months on major credit cards, PinoyMetroGeek reported at the time. That local launch came roughly a month after the China launch. If vivo repeats the pattern, a Philippine X500 launch in late 2026 is plausible, but nothing has been confirmed and no local pricing exists.
The X500 will arrive into a busy camera-flagship season locally. OPPO has already confirmed the Find X10 Pro Max with a triple 200MP camera setup for September, and Xiaomi's 18 Fold with Leica cameras launched this week. vivo's X500 Pro Max, with its 200MP telephoto and CIPA 7.0 stabilization, is aimed squarely at that group.
The launch event is on September 21 in China, where vivo is also expected to show the vivo Watch 6 and vivo Buds Clip, per Nokiamob.
