The OPPO A7 Pro is now official. OPPO opened pre-orders in China on September 9 and will start selling the phone there on September 11, GSMArena reports. The headline number is the battery: 8,000mAh in a body that is 8.8mm thick and weighs 205g. Pricing starts at CNY 2,199 (around ₱20,500) for the 6GB/256GB model and CNY 2,499 (around ₱23,200) for the 8GB/256GB model.
The A7 Pro fills the gap below the A7 Pro Max, which OPPO released in China in August. It is a mid-range phone built around endurance and durability rather than raw speed.

The battery is the whole pitch
An 8,000mAh cell is unusual even in 2026, when 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh has become common in the mid-range. OPPO also makes a durability claim about the cell itself. The company says the battery will still hold at least 80% of its capacity after 2,000 full charge cycles, according to tbreak's report. For a phone charged once a day, that is more than five years of use before the battery drops below that threshold.
Charging tops out at 45W over a wired connection. There is no wireless charging. Reverse wired charging is supported, so the phone can top up earbuds or another phone over USB-C.
OPPO quotes the capacity two ways. The 8,000mAh figure is the typical capacity, while the rated (minimum guaranteed) capacity is 7,820mAh. Both numbers appear in the official spec sheet.
A tougher body than most mid-range phones
The A7 Pro carries four ingress-protection ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. IP68 covers dust and immersion in fresh water. IP69 and IP69K add protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, a standard originally written for vehicles and industrial equipment. Very few phones at this price carry the IP69K mark.
Modest chipset, memory and storage
Performance is where the A7 Pro stays firmly mid-range. The Dimensity 6360 Max is an octa-core chip running at up to 2.4GHz with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It is paired with LPDDR4X memory (an older, slower memory standard than the LPDDR5X used in flagships) and UFS 2.2 storage (likewise a step below UFS 3.1 or 4.0). Storage is fixed at 256GB, but a microSD slot lets you add more.
The rest of the connectivity list is complete for the class: USB-C, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and an infrared blaster for controlling appliances.
Cameras keep it simple
The rear camera is a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, phase-detect autofocus and optical image stabilization (OIS). It is joined only by an unspecified auxiliary lens, so there is no ultrawide or telephoto. The front camera is 8MP with an f/2.1 aperture.
What it means for buyers in the Philippines
OPPO has not announced the A7 Pro for the Philippines. No Philippine price, launch date or retailer listing exists as of publication, and the CNY-to-peso figures above are conversions, not local prices.
The A-series does usually reach the Philippines, though. The OPPO A6 Pro launched locally on October 31, 2025 at ₱15,999 for the 4G model, which paired a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging and a Helio G100 chip. If the A7 Pro follows the same route, expect the local price to land above the A6 Pro given the larger battery and the OLED display, but faster charging is not guaranteed: the China model tops out at 45W, slower than the A6 Pro's 80W.
Big-battery mid-rangers are a crowded local segment.
