TECNO has officially launched the POVA 8 5G in India, bringing a mid-range 5G phone with a notably large battery and a design feature most competing devices skip entirely: a customizable rear LED matrix panel called Alive Matrix Display that reacts to notifications, calls, and in-game events.

The display cycles through up to 49 animations for incoming calls, notifications, charging status, and active gaming sessions — a visual differentiator TECNO has developed across several POVA generations. On the front, the 6.76-inch FHD+ display runs at 144Hz and carries TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification.

Specifications at a glance:

  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G, paired with a G1 Signal Enhancement chip and SE1 Wi-Fi Enhancement chip
  • RAM/Storage: 6GB or 8GB LPDDR5X RAM; 128GB UFS 2.2 storage
  • Camera: 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main sensor with 2x lossless zoom; 13MP front camera
  • Battery: 8,000mAh with 45W fast charging
  • OS: Android 15-based HiOS, with two promised Android version upgrades and three years of security updates
  • Colors: Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, Echo Green

India pricing starts at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model and Rs 31,999 for the 8GB variant. Sales open June 18 via Flipkart and offline retail. Global availability has not been announced, though TECNO typically follows an India launch with broader distribution in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines.
