Huawei's FreeBuds SE 5 MAX noise-cancelling earbuds will cost ₱2,999 in the Philippines, but buyers on TikTok Shop can get them for ₱1,999 from midnight on November 8. That is ₱1,000 off, or about a third, for earbuds with 52dB active noise cancellation (ANC, which uses microphones to cancel outside sound) and up to 80 hours of total playback, as GIZGUIDE first reported from Huawei Philippines' launch details.

What ₱2,999 buys
These figures come from Huawei's Philippine product page, and Huawei measured them in its own tests.
| Feature | FreeBuds SE 5 MAX |
|---|---|
| Noise cancellation | Up to 52dB, with Ultra, General, Cosy and Dynamic modes |
| Battery, per charge | Up to 10 hours with ANC off, 7 hours with ANC on |
| Battery, with case | Up to 80 hours |
| Fast charge | 10 minutes gives about 4 hours of listening |
| Calls | Six microphones with AI noise reduction |
| Sound | 10mm driver, LDAC codec up to 990 kbps, 10-band custom EQ |
| Connection | Bluetooth 6.0, two devices at once, works with iOS and Android |
| Durability | IP55 dust and water resistance; passed 26 durability tests |
| Weight | About 4.3g per earbud |
Dynamic mode adjusts the noise cancelling in real time as your surroundings change. The other three modes are fixed levels, from Ultra for loud places such as a train to Cosy for a quiet room.
How long the battery lasts on a daily commute
By our math, using Huawei's figure of 7 hours with ANC on, a buyer with a 2-hour round-trip commute could use the earbuds for about three and a half workdays before they need to go back in the case. If you forget, Huawei says a 10-minute charge gives about 4 hours, enough for two days of that commute.
These are Huawei's own figures, not a result from an independent test.
Why the Philippine price looks low next to Europe
In Germany the same earbuds sell for €79 (around ₱5,600), and Huawei and Amazon.de are cutting them to €49 (around ₱3,500) from November 10 to 30, reports Germany's hifi.de. By our math, using about ₱71 to the euro, the Philippine SRP is close to half the German price, and the ₱1,999 TikTok promo is about ₱1,500 below even Germany's sale price.
One detail differs between sources: hifi.de lists three microphones, while Huawei's Philippine page says six. We use Huawei's own figure.
Things to check before you buy
- LDAC needs a compatible phone. The earbuds pair with iPhones and Android phones, but the higher-quality LDAC codec only works when your phone also supports it. Check your phone's Bluetooth codec settings.
- No independent test yet. hifi.de's piece is a preview, and it says a proper test is needed to judge whether the noise cancelling matches more expensive earbuds.
- Know the sales channels. Huawei's launch details name TikTok Shop, the HUAWEI Online Store, Shopee and Lazada. The ₱1,999 price was announced as a TikTok-live promo, so don't expect it on the other channels.
