The HONOR Magic V6 makes its Philippine debut on August 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., with the launch streamed live. The foldable was originally set to arrive on August 18, but the event was postponed due to inclement weather, according to REVU Philippines — a week when storms and heavy rain disrupted much of Luzon.

"With the HONOR Magic V6, we're bringing together intelligent AI experiences, powerful performance, and durability designed for everyday demands," said Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines, in the company's launch announcement, as carried by Gadget Pilipinas.

HONOR Magic V6 specs: what the global model tells us

HONOR has not confirmed which configurations are coming to the Philippines, but the Magic V6 has been official globally since March 2026, so the hardware is no mystery. Per GSMArena's spec listing, the book-style foldable packs:

  • A 7.95-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED inner display and a 6.52-inch 120Hz cover screen
  • The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm's current flagship chipset, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage
  • A 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery — unusually large for a foldable — with 80W wired and 66W wireless charging
  • A triple camera: 50MP main, 64MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 50MP ultra-wide, plus 20MP selfie cameras on both displays
  • IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it is protected against dust, immersion, and even high-pressure water jets — a first for foldables alongside its class-leading battery
  • Android 16 with MagicOS and a promise of up to seven major OS updates

Despite the big battery, the phone measures just 8.8mm folded and about 4mm open, and weighs around 219g to 224g depending on the variant.

Durability as the sales pitch

HONOR has leaned hard on toughness in its local marketing. Ahead of the original launch date, the company staged a stunt in which the Magic V6 was used in rigging to pull an airplane, and its Super Steel Hinge is rated for up to 500,000 folds. The message is aimed at the usual objection to foldables — that the hinge and screen are fragile — and it lands differently in a market where a phone this expensive has to survive commutes, rain, and daily wear.

How much will it cost in the Philippines?

HONOR Philippines has not announced local pricing, storage options, or pre-order freebies; those are expected at the August 24 event. For reference, GSMArena lists the global 16GB/512GB model at about $1,999 (around ₱123,000). HONOR's local arm has been aggressive with launch promos in the past, so the Philippine SRP and bundle will be the numbers to watch. The launch also extends HONOR's busy year in the local market, following the HONOR Robot Phone's confirmed Philippine release.

Should you wait for it?

If you are shopping for a foldable in the Philippines right now, the Magic V6's combination of a 6,660mAh battery, IP69 protection, and a periscope zoom is not matched by anything currently on local shelves, and the segment is about to get more crowded — Samsung is tipped to ship five foldables in 2027. The sensible move is to wait three days for the official Philippine price before committing to anything.
