Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9 Beta 2 to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the headline is what it borrows: AI features that debuted on the company's newest foldables and flagships are being ported back to the 2024 phones.
Four features borrowed from Samsung's newest phones
GSMArena reports that the second beta brings a set of S26- and Galaxy Z8-era features to the S24 series:
- Now Nudge — proactive suggestions based on what is currently on your screen
- Call Brief — surfaces relevant events and information while you are on a phone call
- My FanCam — a motion-tracking system that can follow one person in a crowd and crop in on them in videos, a feature that first shipped on the Galaxy Z8 foldables
- Custom Now Brief cards — you can tell the AI what to show in your Now Brief, such as weather, health, or YouTube content, with up to three custom cards at a time

For a two-year-old flagship, that is a meaningful drop: these are the features Samsung has been using to sell its newest hardware, arriving on phones people already own. It also signals that Samsung's AI layer is becoming a software product in its own right, not a hardware exclusive used to push upgrades.
A fast second beta
Beta 2 lands less than two weeks after the first One UI 9 beta reached the S24 series. The new build carries firmware versions ending in ZZI4.
The usual beta warning applies. Test builds like this one still contain bugs, and both Samsung-focused outlets and local reporting recommend against installing it on a phone you rely on daily — the stable release is the one to wait for. Samsung has not published a changelog of fixes alongside the feature additions, and it has not said how many more beta builds will run before the update is finalized.
When will Galaxy S24 owners in the Philippines get it?
Samsung has not announced Philippine availability for the One UI 9 beta program, which has so far been limited to a handful of markets, and none of the rollout announcements so far have included the Philippines. In practice, S24 owners here will most likely meet these features in the stable One UI 9 update, which local reporting expects later this year — Samsung has not committed to a specific date.
It is still a notable move for the local market. The Galaxy S24 series sold widely in the Philippines, and Samsung's recent releases here — like the Galaxy S26 FE, which launched at ₱46,990 with seven years of updates — have made long software support a selling point. Porting current-generation AI features back to the S24 is that promise being kept in a visible way: the phones Filipinos bought two years ago are about to pick up several of the tricks Samsung's 2026 lineup shipped with.
