Netflix Launches Clips Feed and Expands Playground Gaming Across APAC

Netflix used its 2026 APAC Product Innovation Showcase to roll out a meaningful update to how the platform works on mobile — and to signal where its gaming ambitions are headed.

Two announcements stood out: a new vertical video discovery feature called Clips, and an expansion of Netflix Playground, the company's dedicated games hub for children.

Clips: Netflix's Take on Short-Form Discovery

Clips is a personalized vertical video feed that surfaces short snippets from shows and movies tailored to a user's viewing history. From within the feed, viewers can save titles to their list, share a clip, or jump straight into the full show or movie. Netflix plans to extend the feature with themed collections organized around moods, genres, and special interests — think reality TV highlight reels, behind-the-scenes content, and podcast snippets.

The Clips experience is already live in the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Malaysia, with South Korea and Japan set to gain access in July. Additional APAC markets will follow after that.

KPop Demon Hunters Comes to Playground

On the gaming side, Netflix Playground — an ad-free, transaction-free gaming hub built into children's profiles — is getting six new minigames tied to KPop Demon Hunters on June 20. The animated musical racked up over 518 million views in its first six months, and Netflix is capitalizing on that audience by turning it into a gaming franchise. The company says it intends to keep expanding Playground with titles based on its broader kids library.

The showcase also previewed curated collection hubs around cultural events like Diwali and Golden Week, plus a dedicated Watch Your Favourite Books section for screen adaptations of popular novels.
