The biggest stock market debut in Philippine history has new dates. Mynt, the company behind GCash, has revised the timetable of its initial public offering (IPO — a company's first sale of shares to the public): the offer period moves to October 6-12, and the listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) shifts to October 20, a day later than the earlier October 19 target. The changes come from the company's updated prospectus dated August 18. As of publication, only one outlet — the business daily BusinessWorld — has reported the revised dates; Mynt itself has not issued a new announcement.

The largest IPO in Philippine history

At full size, the offering covers 8.03 billion shares at up to ₱10 each — ₱80.3 billion — rising to as much as ₱92.3 billion if the overallotment option (extra shares underwriters can sell when demand is strong) is fully exercised. According to InsiderPH's analysis of the prospectus, that prices the whole company at roughly ₱669 billion, which would place Mynt among Southeast Asia's most valuable fintech firms. Mynt's board authorized the filing in June, with the offer representing about 12% of its outstanding capital stock.

The timetable has been a moving target all year. Back in August, Globe Telecom — Mynt's largest single shareholder at 33.84% — flagged a tentative October 19 debut, with CFO Carlo Puno telling reporters the schedule "remains subject to approvals by the PSE, the Philippine SEC, and other market considerations," per Cebu Daily News.

The business behind the listing

GCash is not a niche product going public — it is the default e-wallet of the country. The prospectus figures reported by InsiderPH show 40.4 million monthly active users, or almost 55% of Philippine adults, roughly four times the active users of its nearest competitor. The platform processed 62.4 million transactions a day and ₱17.03 trillion in payment volume in 2025.

The financials have grown to match. Revenue rose from ₱33.6 billion in 2023 to ₱79.7 billion in 2025, while net income climbed from ₱6.38 billion to ₱17.25 billion over the same period. The first quarter of 2026 brought in ₱20.74 billion in revenue and ₱5.6 billion in net income.

If you use the app daily, this is the company you would be buying into — the same one rolling out features like Tap to Pay on iPhone and GInsure scam protection.

What retail investors should weigh

The headline number needs one important caveat: roughly 80% of the base offering consists of existing shares being sold by current shareholders. Of the proceeds, about ₱74.3 billion would go to those shareholders, and only around ₱14.9 billion would be new capital for the company itself. That is not unusual for a large IPO, but it means most of the money raised does not fund GCash's growth.

InsiderPH's analysis also flags heavy dependence on lending growth, regulatory exposure from banking authorities, and rising competition from digital banks and other fintech platforms as the key risks.

For ordinary Filipinos, the practical takeaway is the calendar: if the schedule holds, retail investors can subscribe during the October 6-12 offer period, and GCASH shares start trading on October 20. The offer remains subject to final regulatory approvals, and given how many times the dates have already moved, treat them as targets rather than promises.
