When and where to buy

  • October 9 to 20 — pre-orders, exclusive to Shopee.
  • October 21 — online sales open on Samsung.com, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Shopee, MemoX.com and Abenson.com.
  • October 28 — units reach Samsung Experience Stores and authorized retail stores.

Gadget Pilipinas reports that launch buyers get a productivity bundle — a Book Cover Keyboard Slim, an extra S Pen and a 45W travel adapter — valued at up to ₱18,279, plus app offers worth up to ₱24,161. Samsung is also taking up to ₱12,000 off via trade-in, and selected cards get 0% installment plans stretching to 36 months. Student discounts apply as well.

What you get for the money

Both tablets run on the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, with Samsung citing a 61% faster NPU (the chip section that handles AI tasks), a 19% faster CPU and a 17% better GPU than the previous generation. They ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, carry IP68 dust and water resistance, and include the S Pen.

The differences come down to size:

  • Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra — 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (2960 x 1848, 120Hz, 1,600 nits peak), 11,600mAh battery, 5.1mm thin, 692 grams, 13MP + 8MP rear cameras.
  • Galaxy Tab S12+ — 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (2800 x 1752, 120Hz, 1,600 nits peak), 10,600mAh battery, 5.3mm thin, 13MP rear camera.

Samsung rates the Ultra for up to 23 hours of use and the S12+ for up to 21 hours. Both will also be early in line for software updates — Samsung has already started rolling out stable One UI 9 with Android 17 across its flagship lineup.

Should you pre-order?

At ₱76,590 to ₱109,590, the Tab S12 series sits firmly in laptop-replacement territory, and Samsung is clearly aiming it at professionals and creators rather than casual users. The pre-order math is the main argument for buying early: the keyboard bundle and trade-in support together can offset more than ₱30,000 of the sticker price, which is not a discount Samsung typically repeats after launch.

If your budget is a fraction of this, the value end of the tablet market has options — HONOR sells the Pad X9b Max with a 13-inch display for ₱19,999 — but nothing in that class matches the Tab S12's AMOLED panels, flagship chip or bundled stylus. One more decision point is connectivity: the 5G variants carry a premium of ₱9,000 on the S12+ and ₱12,000 on the Ultra over their Wi-Fi counterparts, which is only worth paying if you regularly work away from a stable Wi-Fi connection. For Android power users in the Philippines, this is the most capable tablet lineup of the year; the question is only whether the Plus covers your needs for ₱11,000 less than the Ultra.
