EA Sports FC 27 is available worldwide as of September 25 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. EA's launch announcement leads with two additions: The Grounds, a social football playground that links street play to stadium competition, and FC 27 Lite, a free-to-download version for people who want to try the game before paying.
Early adopters have been playing since September 18, when the Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions unlocked early access. Here is what the full release contains, how critics rated it, and what it costs in the Philippines.
What is new in EA Sports FC 27
EA's headline numbers are 21,000-plus players, 800-plus clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums and 35-plus leagues, backed by more than 300 football partners. Nick Wlodyka, senior vice president and group general manager of EA Sports FC, called it the biggest football experience the studio has delivered.
The changes that matter in play:
- The Grounds. A social space where you take part in kickabouts, 1v1 matches and team-based Clubs play, and work with football mentors to build skills. It is limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2; the older PS4, Xbox One and Switch versions do not get it.
- FC 27 Lite. A free download with a curated slice of the game. At launch it includes Kick-off, Learn to Play, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons.
- Gameplay. EA lists dynamic corners, improved attacking awareness, player-focused defending tuned for competitive play, and refined animations.
- Career. Dexerto's review describes dynamic player ratings that move with form, morale and fitness, and transfer negotiations with realistic back-and-forth between clubs and players.
- Ultimate Team. A new Gallery feature with re-gradable card sets.
Editions and early access
EA's editions guide sets out three versions. The Standard Edition unlocked on September 25. The Ultimate Edition added up to seven days of early access, 6,000 FC Points spread over three months, a Season 1 Premium Pass, an 85-plus ICON player item and an extra evolution slot. The Ultimate Plus Edition, sold only to early-bird pre-orders between July 23 and August 31, carried 10,000 FC Points across five months and Premium Passes for Seasons 1 to 5. That early-bird window has closed.

OpenCritic records an 80 average from 33 critics, with 79 percent recommending the game. The common thread is that the football itself is strong while The Grounds divides opinion.
Dexerto's Nathan Warby called the moment-to-moment action the best football you can play with a controller, and singled out refined headers and crossing, redesigned corners with manual player positioning, and a nerf to forward runs and through balls that curbs pace-abuse tactics. He found The Grounds creative at first but limited, because its minigames such as 5v5 Rush and Balloon Ball are not available across all modes.
Game Informer's Matthew Kato landed at 7.25. He liked the defensive changes that reward manual control, the curved teammate runs, the Gallery in Ultimate Team, and Career's Dynamic OVR system and negotiation tension meter. His complaints were that The Grounds lacks depth compared with rival open-world modes, that CPU teammates sometimes make poor decisions, that player switching can bug out in frantic moments, and that the Player Career rivalry system is thin.
FC 27 price in the Philippines
The Philippines has a real local price for the physical PS5 edition. DataBlitz lists PS5 EA Sports FC 27 (Asian version) at ₱3,795, with free shipping. The Standard Edition bundle covers both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.
PlayStation's Philippine product page promotes the game but displays no peso price, so the DataBlitz figure is the clearest local reference for now. If you are unsure whether to spend ₱3,795, FC 27 Lite is the sensible first step: it is free, and Online Seasons is included, which is enough to judge whether the new defending and corner systems suit you.
One caution for Filipino buyers on last-generation hardware: The Grounds is not part of the PS4, Xbox One or original Switch versions, so the mode EA is marketing hardest is not what you get on those consoles.
