Funcom has confirmed September 22, 2026, as the release date for Dune: Awakening on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are live now on both storefronts. The console launch was the headline announcement, but the more significant news for existing PC players may be what ships alongside it: a major content update that applies to all platforms on the same day.

The headline addition is a full single-player mode with adjustable difficulty and configurable progression rates for experience and resource gathering. It arrives together with the final Act of Book 1, completing the main narrative arc that has been running in early access. Players can now experience the entire story without ever joining a multiplayer session.

For console players specifically, Funcom redesigned the controls and menus for gamepads, and the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions target 60fps in Performance mode alongside a Quality mode that prioritizes visual fidelity. Optional PvE servers — where other players cannot attack you in the open world — are also being added, along with a vehicle backup tool and a base reconstruction feature to protect players from losing progress after extended breaks.

Cross-play will connect Xbox console players with PC players on the Microsoft Store, but PlayStation will not be part of that cross-play pool at launch.

Console pricing:

  • Standard Edition: $49.99
  • Deluxe Edition: $69.99 (bonus items + early access)
  • Ultimate Edition: $89.99 (bonus items + early access)

The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day. A free "Polar Cap" survival map is also planned as a post-launch update later in 2026.
