Filipino makers no longer have to buy a 3D printer sight unseen. Bambu Lab, the world's top-selling desktop 3D printer brand, opened its first authorized store in the Philippines on October 1 — a physical shop on the fourth floor of Cyberzone, Building B, SM Megamall, where shoppers can watch printers run, compare models side by side, and walk out with a machine the same day.
The store is operated by Uni3DLab, one of Bambu Lab's authorized distributors in the country, and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
What's inside the SM Megamall store
The shop carries selected Bambu Lab printers — including the A2L, which headlines the launch coverage — alongside filaments (the plastic spools printers melt into objects), accessories and finished sample prints that show what the machines can actually produce. Staff run live printing demonstrations, and Pinoy Metro Geek's store photos show demo units, a filament wall and sample prints lining the shelves.
The pitch is hands-on access. "We want more Filipinos to see 3D printing as something they can actually use and enjoy," said David Wei of Uni3DLab. The store targets a deliberately wide audience — students, educators, designers, hobbyists, professionals, families and small businesses — with use cases running from prototyping and school projects to collectibles, home organization and functional repair parts.
Visitors can also get oriented on MakerWorld, Bambu Lab's platform of ready-to-print designs with millions of shared models and more than 20,000 daily active users. That community library removes the biggest beginner hurdle: you can download a proven design and print it straight away instead of learning 3D modeling first.
Opening promos and hours
For its opening weekend (October 1 to 2), the store offered cash discounts on selected printer series, 10% off filaments, gifts with qualifying purchases, and installment options — a sign the shop is chasing first-time buyers, not just enthusiasts who already own machines. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
From distributor-only to retail shelf
Bambu Lab is not new to the Philippines — its printers have been sold here through authorized distributors and resellers for years, and the company staged a media roundtable and a mall concept corner at One Ayala earlier this year to introduce the brand to mainstream consumers. At that roundtable the company positioned compact machines like the entry-level A1 mini for practical home use, creative hobbies and product design — a deliberate pitch beyond the engineering crowd. The Megamall store is the next step: a permanent, full retail presence inside one of the country's busiest malls, staffed by a distributor rather than a marketplace storefront.
It is a confident bet by a company with the numbers to back it. Bambu Lab ranked first worldwide in desktop 3D printer sales for three consecutive years, from October 2022 to September 2025, according to Frost & Sullivan — a run built on machines that made multi-color, high-speed printing dramatically easier for beginners.
Why it matters for Filipino makers
Until now, buying a 3D printer in the Philippines usually meant ordering online from a distributor, a marketplace seller or an overseas shop, then troubleshooting alone. A staffed retail store changes the risk calculation for first-time buyers: you can see print quality before paying, ask about filament types in person, and come back when something clogs. For the small-business crowd — the Shopee and Lazada sellers printing phone stands, cosplay parts and custom cake toppers — easier access to reliable machines lowers the cost of starting a product line. Store prices were not published in the launch coverage, so budget against the distributors' existing listings and watch for the opening promos to return on mall sale weekends.
