ShopeeVIP+ is now live in the Philippines, and its math is unusual: for ₱140 a month on a multi-month subscription, members get a Netflix Mobile plan plus unlimited free-shipping vouchers with no minimum spend — which is less than the ₱169 Filipinos currently pay for the same Netflix plan on its own. Shopee launched the program this week in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, timed squarely into the 9.9 sale season.

The tie-up is also a first. Netflix has never before partnered with an online shopping platform in this part of Asia, according to the companies' joint announcement reported by Investing.com.

What ₱140 a month gets you

  • Netflix Mobile plan access on phones and tablets, with the option to pay up to higher Netflix tiers
  • Unlimited free-delivery vouchers with no minimum spend
  • Daily discount vouchers, including an extra 20 percent off select products
  • 0% interest on SPayLater installments for three months
  • Partner freebies from Canva Pro, ChatGPT Go, and Duolingo

A single month costs ₱169 if you do not commit to multiple months. Existing Shopee VIP members can upgrade to VIP+ for an extra ₱41 a month.

Cheaper than Netflix alone

Netflix's Philippine Mobile plan has sat at ₱169 since its 2025 price adjustment, per FairSubs' current price tracker. If the Mobile tier is too small for your household, the standalone ladder on the same tracker runs ₱279 for Basic, ₱449 for Standard, and ₱619 for Premium — and VIP+ members can pay the difference to move up a Netflix tier while keeping the shopping perks. At the multi-month rate, ShopeeVIP+ effectively hands you the shopping perks for less than nothing; at the single-month rate, the perks are free. The catch is the plan tier: Mobile means phone-and-tablet streaming only, so households watching on a TV would still need to pay the difference for a higher Netflix tier.

A new front in the platform war

The launch lands in the middle of the Philippine e-commerce calendar's most crowded stretch, with Lazada running its own 9.9 Mega Brands Sale in the same week. Subscription bundles are how platforms lock in repeat buyers, and pairing shipping vouchers with the country's most popular streaming service is a sharper hook than vouchers alone. It also extends a pattern of payment and service tie-ups on the platform, following Apple Pay support arriving at Shopee checkout earlier this year.

For Netflix, the deal buys distribution: a Mobile-tier subscriber acquired through a shopping app is a subscriber it did not have to win with content alone, in a market where streaming services are actively reshuffling their Philippine offerings.

Worth it?

If you already shop on Shopee monthly and watch Netflix on your phone, the multi-month plan is close to a straight discount: you pay ₱29 less than standalone Netflix Mobile and the shipping vouchers ride along free. If you rarely order online, the standalone Netflix plan at ₱169 buys the same streaming without a commitment. And if you watch on a TV, price out the higher Netflix tiers first — the bundle's savings are anchored to the Mobile tier. One thing to watch as the program matures: Shopee has not published a cap on the "unlimited" free-shipping vouchers' terms beyond the no-minimum-spend promise, so check the voucher conditions in-app before assuming every order qualifies.
