Samsung's new foldables are now priced for the Philippines

Samsung has launched its 2026 foldable lineup in the Philippines, and this year it splits into three models: the flagship Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the redesigned Galaxy Z Fold8, and the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip8. Local pricing starts at ₱77,990 for the Z Flip8 and climbs to ₱165,990 for the top Z Fold8 Ultra. Pre-orders opened on July 22 and run until August 13, with units shipping to early buyers from August 8.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: the new top model

The Z Fold8 Ultra replaces last year's single flagship with a larger, more powerful option. It has an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, both Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, a 5,000mAh battery, and a new dual-path charging design with 45W fast charging. The camera set is led by a 200MP main sensor, backed by a 50MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, plus 10MP selfie cameras on both screens. An expanded graphite cooling structure helps it hold performance during heavy tasks.

Galaxy Z Fold8: a new shape

The standard Z Fold8 gets the biggest redesign, as UnGeek detailed from the Unpacked event. It moves to a 4:3 main display and a 10:16 cover screen, giving the unfolded phone a more square, tablet-like shape that suits reading and note-taking. Both panels are Dynamic AMOLED 2X with 120Hz refresh. The phone uses Samsung's Flex Titanium build to stay thin and durable, runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, and packs a 4,800mAh battery with 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide cameras. Samsung explained the new hinge material earlier this year in its Flex Titanium display technology reveal.

Galaxy Z Flip8: cheaper, with a smarter cover screen

The Z Flip8 keeps the clamshell shape but upgrades the FlexWindow cover display so more apps run without opening the phone. It has a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen at 120Hz and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover. Samsung uses its own 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset here, paired with a 4,300mAh battery and a 50MP main plus 12MP ultrawide camera. Better Now Brief and Gemini features let users get quick AI help from the cover screen.

All three phones share the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform in the Fold models, the same class of chip found in devices like the OnePlus Pad 4, and ship with Samsung's latest AI features.

Pre-order deals and what they are worth

Buyers who reserve early can double their storage and save up to ₱7,000, get up to ₱14,000 off with a trade-in, and receive Samsung Care+ free for three months, a perk Samsung values at ₱3,297. Smart has also opened postpaid pre-orders for the lineup with its own bundle offers, and the gizguide breakdown of the Z Flip8 confirms the ₱77,990 entry price.

Should Filipino buyers upgrade?

The pricing shows Samsung is trying to widen the foldable market here. At ₱77,990, the Z Flip8 is the entry point for people curious about foldables without paying flagship-slab money. The Z Fold8's new 4:3 screen is the more interesting change for local power users who use their phone for reading, documents, and multitasking. The Z Fold8 Ultra, at up to ₱165,990, is squarely for buyers who want the 200MP camera and the largest screen and are not price-sensitive. As always, the trade-in and free-storage offers make the pre-order window the best value.
