Samsung Galaxy A27 Arrives With Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and Six Years of Updates

Samsung's mid-range lineup just got a meaningful upgrade. The Galaxy A27 went official with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and what might be its most compelling feature: a commitment to six major Android OS upgrades and six years of security patches. That puts the A27 in software longevity territory that most flagships from a few years ago didn't reach — and it makes the phone easier to justify as a multi-year purchase.

The hardware behind that promise is solid for the tier. The display peaks at 800 nits brightness. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens. Up front, a 12MP camera supports 4K video at 30fps — an uncommon spec at this price level.

The phone runs on a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging. Samsung includes Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, an IP64 rating against dust and light water splashes, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Storage options cover 128GB and 256GB (both expandable via microSD up to 2TB), paired with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM.

It ships with Android 16 and Samsung's One UI 8.5 out of the box. Four colors are offered — Blue, Black, Light Pink, and Light Green — and the first commercial release landed in the Czech Republic. Philippines pricing and availability are still to be announced.
