Lucasfilm used its D23 showcase on August 15, 2026 to debut the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2 and confirm its premiere: January 20, 2027, streaming exclusively on Disney+, according to the official StarWars.com announcement.
What the teaser shows
The footage centers on the reunion fans have waited for since Season 1: Ahsoka and the Force ghost of Anakin Skywalker. Anakin appears both in flashbacks training a young Ahsoka and alongside her older self, pressing her on the question that has defined the character for years — whether she is truly a Jedi. Meanwhile, Grand Admiral Thrawn rallies the Imperial remnant, setting up the season's central conflict as the New Republic rises after the Empire's fall.
Series creator Dave Filoni — now Lucasfilm's President and Chief Creative Officer — presented the teaser at the Honda Center in Anaheim with stars Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, and Eman Esfandi. Dawson told the crowd the new season is "massive," with bigger battles and higher stakes than the first.
