The realme 16x is realme's newest attempt to win the budget battery wars. Launched in India on August 12 and on sale there from August 13, the phone pairs a 7,000mAh battery with a 144Hz display and MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 chip, starting at ₹25,999 (around ₱16,700). There is no Philippine launch announcement yet — more on that below.

Launch offers in India knock ₹2,000 (around ₱1,300) off those prices, with the phone selling through Flipkart, realme.com, and retail stores in Glory White and Endurance Brown, per the Free Press Journal.
The battery is the whole story
The 7,000mAh cell — realme brands it a "Titan" battery — is the largest realme has shipped in this segment, charged at 45W over a wire with 6.5W reverse charging to top up earbuds or another phone. realme claims up to 12.3 hours of continuous gaming, over 156 hours of music playback, and 80 percent battery health retained after six years of use. Those are the manufacturer's own lab figures, so treat them as a ceiling rather than a promise.
The rest of the spec sheet, and its trade-offs
- Display: 6.8-inch IPS LCD at 144Hz with up to 1,200 nits brightness — fast, but only HD+ resolution (1,570 x 720), noticeably less sharp than the Full HD+ panels common at this price
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a modest 5G processor for everyday apps rather than heavy gaming
- Cameras: 50MP main with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP selfie camera — no ultrawide
- Durability: IP65 dust and water resistance plus MIL-STD-810H shock certification (a US military standard for surviving drops and vibration)
- Extras: A "Pulse Light" strip on the back with nine colors and five glow modes for notifications
- Memory: 4GB or 6GB of physical RAM (LPDDR4X) that realme markets as "up to 18GB" by borrowing storage as slower virtual memory, plus 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage that accepts a microSD card
- Software: Android 16 with realme UI 7.0, promised two OS upgrades and three years of security patches
Despite the huge cell, the phone stays reasonably manageable at 8.8mm thick and 217 grams. The pattern in the spec sheet is clear, though: realme spent the budget on the battery and refresh rate, and saved on resolution (the 6.8-inch panel works out to roughly 254 pixels per inch), the chipset, and secondary cameras.
How it stacks up against phones already sold here
Big-battery budget phones are the most crowded fight in the market right now. The POCO M8 Power counters with a larger 8,000mAh cell and a sharper AMOLED panel, while the Redmi 17 carries 7,500mAh at an aggressive converted price. Against those, the realme 16x's HD+ screen is its weakest card — its case rests on battery-health longevity and the 144Hz refresh rate.
Is it coming to the Philippines?
realme has not announced Philippine availability or pricing for the 16x. The company regularly brings its India-first number-series phones to the local market within a few months, but nothing is confirmed, and the peso figures above are conversions rather than an SRP. If it does arrive, its price against the POCO and Redmi rivals — several of which also lack confirmed local launches — will decide whether the 16x matters here.
