Globe has launched Globe Cloud, a personal cloud storage service that lets Filipinos back up photos, videos, and files off their phones and keep them in secure online storage. The plans start at 50GB for ₱39 every 30 days and go up to 2TB for ₱499, with an introductory rate of just ₱5 a month for the first three months. Globe announced Globe Cloud on June 3, 2026 at the second edition of The Blueprint by Globe.
For a Filipino reader, the pitch is simple: your phone keeps running out of space, and instead of deleting photos you can move them to Globe Cloud and pay for it through your Globe account. No credit card is needed, which is a real difference from most global services.
What Globe Cloud does
Globe Cloud is an online storage space (a "cloud") that keeps a copy of your files on Globe's servers instead of only on your phone. Once your photos and videos are backed up, you can free up your device and still reach them from anywhere.
The service includes:

- Multi-device access — reach your files from more than one device
- Albums, plus Flashbacks and Highlights that resurface old moments
- AI-powered editing tools that can enhance old photos and turn images into 3D, cartoon, anime, and other stylized versions
- A Private Folder locked with a PIN or biometrics (fingerprint or face) for sensitive files

On top of these prices, Globe is running an introductory offer of ₱5 a month for the first three months, so new users can try the service before paying the full rate. Because billing runs through your Globe account, prepaid users can pay from load rather than needing a credit or debit card.
The technology behind Globe Cloud
Globe did not build the platform from scratch. It is using a white-label (rebranded) service from US technology firm Synchronoss called Synchronoss Personal Cloud. According to the Synchronoss announcement, the deal covers Globe's base of more than 54 million customers across mobile, fixed-line, and broadband.
Two Synchronoss features map to what Globe is marketing. Synchronoss Genius is the AI photo suite that handles filters, upscaling (making low-resolution photos sharper), and effects. Space Saver is the tool that clears files off your device while keeping them safe in the cloud.
"This partnership with Globe strengthens our growing presence in Asia and underscores the increasing global demand for operator-led personal" cloud services, said Synchronoss CEO Pat Doran. Globe Chief Marketing Officer Roche Vandenberghe framed it as giving customers "a secure, seamless way to store, manage, and elevate their personal" content. The technology partnership was first confirmed on May 26, 2026, ahead of the consumer launch.
Is Globe Cloud worth it for Filipinos?
The main draw is price plus payment convenience. At ₱39 for 50GB, Globe Cloud sits below the entry cost of many global cloud plans, and paying through GlobeOne without a credit card removes a real barrier for prepaid users. That matters in a market where paid cloud storage is still not the norm — many people just delete files when the phone fills up.
The trade-off is reach. Globe Cloud only works if you are a Globe subscriber, and at launch it is limited to Android phones and a web browser, so iPhone users are left out for now. If you already pay for Apple's iCloud+ tier in the Philippines or Google One, Globe Cloud is an alternative rather than a clear upgrade — its edge is the local billing and the AI photo tools, not raw features.
