A Filipino artificial intelligence startup has released data backing a claim that gets pitched often but rarely proven: that an AI tool can reliably identify which version of an ad will outperform before anyone spends a cent on media.
Netopia AI's Predikta is a behavioral simulation platform that models how a target audience is likely to feel, think, and respond to ad copy. Rather than guessing or relying on creative intuition, marketers feed competing ad variants into Predikta and receive a ranked output based on predicted audience engagement — specifically click-through rate and cost per click.
The new validation data comes from a backtesting study conducted with AdSpark, the digital media agency arm of Globe Telecom. Researchers compared thousands of ad pairs: Predikta's pre-launch simulation scores on one side, real campaign performance data on the other. The results showed statistically significant alignment for CTR and CPC across Awareness and Conversion campaigns.
Manny Fernando, CEO of AdSpark, described the outcome: 'What the backtesting demonstrated is that Predikta captures meaningful signals that align with real campaign outcomes, particularly in engagement and cost efficiency.'
Netopia AI's co-founders — Jason Albia (Chief Strategy Officer), Joshua Lidasan, Richard Laig, Axel Kornerup, and Raf Del Rosario — have built the platform with support from 917Ventures, Globe's corporate venture arm, through its Velocity accelerator program. Brave Connective is also among its backers.
Important caveats: the current backtesting covered only copy-level analysis, not full creative formats like images and video. Netopia AI explicitly says Predikta is intended to complement, not replace, traditional A/B testing or live campaign optimization — Fernando himself cautioned that the results should not be viewed as a replacement for live campaign testing. Validation for broader creative formats is reportedly underway.
For Philippine marketers, the more immediate implication is a potential tool to cut the trial-and-error phase of creative testing before media budgets are committed — a meaningful efficiency gain for brands operating on tighter campaign cycles.
