Adobe began pushing a significant Creative Cloud update the week of June 15, 2026, touching Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Illustrator. The headlining change is Photoshop's Remove Tool going fully offline.
Photoshop
The Remove Tool now runs on an on-device generative AI model, meaning it works without an internet connection. Users who previously had to wait for cloud processing — or couldn't use the feature at all in areas with spotty connectivity — can now retouch images entirely on-device. Adobe also added Reflection Removal, which detects and isolates reflections from glass surfaces on separate layers, letting photographers dial the effect up or down.
After Effects
The most significant change here replaces the longtime Roto Brush with a new Object Matte workflow, backed by four AI-powered selection tools: Object Selection, Quick Selection, Selection Brush, and Refine Edge. Adobe is positioning this as a faster and more precise path to masking complex subjects.
Illustrator
Concept to Vector converts hand-drawn sketches or bitmap artwork into fully editable vector graphics. Adobe describes it as a modern replacement for the older Live Trace feature, with better results on complex drawings.
Lightroom and Lightroom Classic
- Assisted Culling moves to general availability with a new Face View that groups shots by person and lets photographers set custom selection thresholds
- Photo to Video generates short video clips from still images — useful for B-roll or social reels
- AI Sharpen adds Topaz Labs' Noise-Aware Sharpen algorithm
- Sony Alpha 7R VI RAW support added
- Lightroom Classic gains pixel-level duplicate detection and optimized Denoise for Apple Silicon
Premiere Pro
Editors get Global Audio Mute, single-word captioning, Marker Search, three new visual effects (Channel Blur, Gradient, Noise FX), and two new 3D transitions (Spinback and Slide) with professional easing controls. A Stock Panel integration also arrives, letting editors pull licensed footage directly inside the timeline.
All updates are rolling out to Creative Cloud subscribers worldwide.
